Alison Ivey accused of sex with 17 year old student

28 year old former marketing teacher at Baldwin County High School in Milledgeville, Georgia, Alison Ivey, was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 17 year old student sometime after Christmas 2007. The age of consent in Georgia is 17, however she is being charged due to the fact that she held a position of authority over the boy.

Ivey has sent in her letter of resignation from the school, and she remains free on $25,000 bond. An investigation into her teaching certificate has been launched as well, she will be losing her teaching certificate if she is found/pleads guilty.

She will remain on administrative leave until her resignation is put into effect at the end of the school year.
