Andrew Weaver arrested for internet sex crime

28 year old former teacher at Brighton High School in Brighton, Colorado, Andrew Weaver, was arreted on a felony count of Internet sexual exploitation of a child.

It is alleged that weaver engaged in internet conversations with police officers who were posing as a 14 year old girl. He is also accused of sending pictures of himself via webcam rubbing his genitals. Weaver allegedly also tried to get the officers to send nude pictures, thinking that he was requesting nude pictures of a 14 year old girl.

Weaver has been fired by the school and is being held on $25,000 bond.

Update -- 10/17/2008
Weaver has struck a plea deal with the prosecution and has been sentenced to 3 years of intensive supervised probation. Weavers deal included a guilty plea to one count of attempted Internet sexual exploitation of a child.
