Anthony Spahr withdraws plea after detective on his case suspended for suspicion of sex with 17 year old

Anthony Spahr, the 28 year old former assistant band director at Milton-Union High School in West Milton, Ohio has decided to withdraw his plea of no contest to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. His withdrawal comes after news of one of the investigators in his case being suspended from duty for suspicions of having sex with a 17 year old girl on school property.

Spahr was originally arrested for sexual battery after allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a band member. Spahr was set to be sentenced on June 3rd.

Update -- 07/27/2008
Anthony Spahr has been sentenced to 2 years in prison on 2 counts of attempted gross sexual imposition. The judge gave Spahr 1 year for each of the two counts, but ordered that they be served consecutively, which is the maximum possible punishment.
