Coen Potts, art teacher, pleads guilty to child porn

Coen Potts, the 37 year old former art teacher at Pauline South Intermediate School and Pauline Central Primary School in Kansas has apparently plead guilty to possession of child pornography as well as receiving child pornography.

Investigators say they found thousands of child pornography teachers on Potts' home computer. In September 2006, Potts allegedly met a woman through a dating service and mentioned that he would like to have children with her, that he could deflower. Yikes. For some reason, the woman met with the man in person after that little episode, and Potts actually brought some of his favorite child porn pictures with him, and showed them to the woman. Potts told the woman that he had an interest in child porn for a long time, and had been pretty much unsuccessful with women for a long time as well. I wonder why? Perhaps its because you say you want to have children with a woman in order to have sex with them? Or because you show your date your stash of child porn? PERHAPS.

Potts will face sentencing on September 8th 2008. He will face a minimum of 5 years up to 20 years in prison for the receiving of child porn, and up to 10 years for the possession. Along with that comes a potential total of $500,000 in fines. Yes, that comes as a shock to me too, that its more illegal to receive child porn, than it is to possess it.
