Computer teacher John Bender charged with sodomy, molestation of 12 year old. Principal obstructs.

61 year old computer teacher at Gateway Elementary School in St. Louis, Missouri, John Bender, was charged with first degree statutory sodomy and child molestation in the first degree. The principal of the school was also charged with a misdemeanor count of failure to report. Investigators believe the principal had reasonable cause to suspect the teacher of having inappropriate contact with the student.

Bender allegedly touched the 12 year old girl in a closet back in September of 2007. He has been a teacher for 37 years. Bender will be held on a $100,000 cash bond.
