Former phys. ed. teacher sentenced for fondling babysitters friend

Michael Harris, the 31 year old former physical education teacher at Landstown Middle School in Virginia Beach, Virginia was sentenced to 5 years in prison with 4 suspended, on a charge of indecent liberties with a custodial minor.

It is alleged that Harris fondled the breast of a 13 year old girl, a friend of Harris' babysitter, while she was changing her clothes in his home. It is also reported that Harris' 5 year old daughter was present when the incident occured.

Harris was arrested in January 2007 and plead guilty in March of 2008. Harris will also be required to register as a sex offender and complete a sex offender program, as well as not having any unsupervised contact with children.
