Former teacher Ronald Neil sentenced to 3 years in prison for child porn

Ronald Neil, the 41 year old economics teacher at at Borah High School in Boise, Idaho has been sentenced to 32 months in federal prison on charges of possession of child porn. The judge also recommended Neil attend sex offender treatment, in response to his attorney's stating that Neil had been abused as a child.

Neil was arrested in February 2008 after ICE agents discovered his credit card had been used to pay for a subscription to a known child porn site. When investigators searched his home, they seized his computers, including a school-issued laptop, which they say contained 6 videos and up to 50 images of children engaging in sexual activity. Authorities say that some of the children were under the age of 13, at least.
