Gym teacher and coach Craig Yarnall pleads guilty to sex with 16 year old girl

Craig Yarnall, the 38 year old phys. ed. teacher and girls soccer coach at Colonia Middle School in Woodbridge, New Jersey has pleaded guilty to official misconduct. Yarnall is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16 year old female student.

Yarnall was discovered in a nearby park with the girl, now 17, in a truck by police. Police discovered during their investigation that Yarnall and the girl had been in a sexual relationship since the girl was 16.

Yarnall agreed to a 3 year prison sentence as part of his plea deal, however he may get into an intense supervised parole program, in which case it would be possible to get paroled before his 3 year sentence.

Update -- 07/27/2008
Craig Yarnall has been sentenced to 3 years in prison. However Yarnall is trying to get into an intensive supervisory parole program, where he could serve as little as 60 days, with the rest of his time on this program. Yarnall has surrendered his teaching license.
