Gym teacher and coach Victoria Blevins gets probation

Victoria Blevins, the 23 year old bull-ish physical education teacher and assistant coach for the girls basketball team at Monroe High School, in Monroe, New Jersey has been sentenced to 3 years probation and her teaching certificate revoked for charges of harassment/disorderly persons.

Blevins was arrested in October 2007 for allegedly having sex with a female student. The alleged victim's mother reportedly found an instant message between the coach and the girl that suggested an inappropriate sexual relationship. The mother reported her findings to the school who then reported them to the police.

The girl reportedly told police that the sexual relationship took place betwen April and June of 2007, and in various locations. She told police there was never any contact at the school.

Blevins originally plead not guilty to charges of official misconduct and sexual assault. However 2 months later she struck a deal with the prosecution to plead guilty to charges of harassment. The prosecution agreed to the deal after the victim recanted and changed her story.
