James Skaggs, former teacher, gets 4 years for 3 decade old assault

James Skaggs, the 62 year old former teacher at West Point Independent School in Hardin County, Kentucky, was sentenced to 4 years in prison for sodomizing an 8th grade student.

However, the student is now 43 years old, and the sodomy happened in 1977 and ended in 1978, when the student was 13. After Skaggs' teaching career and sodomy, he became the superintendent of schools at the Cloverport school district in Breckinridge County, Kentucky.

Skaggs will be required to attend and complete sex offender treatment before he is eligible for release.
