John Cochran, teacher, pleads to inappropriate contact with student

41 year old John Cochran, a former teacher at Highland High School, in Ault, Colorado, has entered a no-contest plea to unlawful sexual contact. In exchange for his plea, another count of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust was dropped.

Cochran was accused of inappropriately touching a 16 year old female student, however no other details were available.

As a result of Cochran's plea, he could be sentenced to 5 years of probation, will be required to reegister as a sex offender, and may not have any contact with minors under 18, including his own children. Ouch.
