Richard Spangler gets probation for lewd conduct with students

40 year old Richard Spangler, a former math teacher at Harrison Middle School in Harrison, Michigan has been sentenced to 1 year of probation after his arrest for second-degree child abuse and lewd and lascivious conduct.

It is alleged that Spangler had inappropriate contact with students at the school. Spangler plead guilty to the lewd and lascivious conduct. In addition to his probation sentence, Spangler must not have any contact with persons under 17, and he must surrender his teaching license. In the state of MI, a charge of lewd and lascivious usually carries sex offender registration with it, however it is not clear whether or not he will be required to register.
