Richard CarlsenRichard Carlsen, the 36 year old teachers aide at Howard Middle School in Ocala, Florida has been arrested for unlawful sex acts with a minor and interference with child custody.

It is alleged that Carlsen helped two brothers, 15 and 17 years old, whom he had been mentoring for years to run away from their home. It is said that it was not common for Carlsen to take the brothers on overnight trips, with their mothers permission. However Carlsen gave one of the boys a ring, and their mother advised them to no longer have contact with Carlsen.

The boys apparently did not like that, and decided to run away from home. Allegedly Carlsen was involved in helping the boys to hide. He did however advised the boys that they should return home.

Carlsen was released on bond after being booked. Carlsen admitted to performing a sexual act on the 17 year old boy and knowing their whereabouts when they were missing. Carlsen originally told police that he did not know where they were.
