Ian Daw

A sex scandal is a-brewin in Gonzales, California after 24 year old Ian Daw, a substitute teacher at Gonzales High School was arrested on charges of unlawful sex and child molestation.

It is alleged that Daw had a sexual encounter with a 16 year old female student. Police started an investigation into the allegations of Daw having sex with his student after the school became aware of alleged incidents. The school interviewed both the student and Daw and then turned their findings over to police.

It is reported that the alleged incidents happened off-campus, and that it was consensual. It is further reported that there was only one sexual encounter between Daw and the student.

Daw remains jailed on a $15,000 bond. Police are asking that anyone with information about the investigation call 675-5010 or to remain anonymous call 1-800-78-CRIME.

Wendi Boutiette

Wendy Boutiette, 36 year old former track coach at Coquille High School, in Coquille, Oregon has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse, two counts of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and sexual misconduct.

Boutiette, who is reportedly married with two children, is accused of having sexual relations or inappropriate sexual conduct with at least one male student athlete.

Larry Eugene Tindell, 48 year old special education teacher at W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton, Alabama has been charged after accusations that he paid students both in cash and in the prescription pain killer Lortab, for the students to perform sex acts on themselves.

Tindell was originally arrested for charges of distribution of a controlled substance, and after further investigation believe that Tindell also used some of those controlled substances to coerce male students whom he had become “friends” with, to perform sex acts on themselves while Tindell watched.

Sheriffs deputies believe more charges could be forthcoming, after they found evidence of child porn taken from what they believe to be magazines or the internet after executing a search warrant on Tindell’s home. Tindell is jailed on $425,000 bond.

35 year old Dawne Lejeune Schwartz, formerly a teachers aide at Kennedy High School in Bloomington, Minnesota has been charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17 year old male student.

Schwartz was arrested after she reportedly told somebody about her having sex with the student. That person then eventually told the school officials, who then contacted the police to report the alleged crime.

It has been reported that the sexual relations had been going on since November of 2008, and occurred multiple times both at Schwartz’s home and the boys home while his parents were away. After being questioned by police, Scwartz reportedly denied having any sexual relationship with the boy, though she shortly admitted to not only having sex with the boy, but also sending him sexually explicit text messages.

Schwartz has reportedly been fired by the school system. She could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

Roberto Caragol

Robert Caragol, 35 year old former assistant swim coach at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida has pleaded guilty to transmitting child pornography.

Caragol was accused of sharing pornographic images of young boys on the internet, and his email address was used. Caragol denied the allegations and offered up his laptop to investigators. Upon searching his laptop, the computer forensics specialists uncovered about 40 images depicting young boys nude or in a sexual nature.

Michael Calnon

Michael Calnon, 42 year old former basketball coach and math teacher at Upper Dauphin High School in Elizabethville, Pennsylvania has been sentenced to 10 years of probation after sending sexually explicit text messages to 9 young female students.

Calnon was charged with seven counts of corruption of minors, four counts of indecent assault and three counts of unlawful contact with a minor. As part of a plea deal, Calnon pleaded guilty to 8 counts of corruption of minors, and received his probation sentence.

Calnon will also surrender his teaching certificate, undergo sex offender therapy, have restricted use of the internet/computers, and may not be employed anywhere children are involved.

Timothy Gouranis

50 year old Timothy Gounaris, a former teacher at Pine Grove Middle School in Baltimore, Maryland was originally arrested in 2007 on charges of second and third degree degree rape and perverted practice charges.

In April of 2007, Gounaris entered an Alford plea to the third degree charge and in exchange, the other charges were dropped. The charges stemmed from an alleged sexual relationship with a 13 year old female student at the middle school.

James Wilson, former 39 year old history teacher at York River Academy in Yorktown, Virginia has pleaded guilty in a deal with prosecutors, and was sentenced to 12 years in prison, however all but 2 years were suspended.

Wilson was originally arrested in November of 2007 on accusations that he had sex with a female student. Originally facing 8 counts of nonforcible sodomy, as well as 8 counts of consensual sex with a minor. The prosecution dropped 4 of the 8 consensual sex with a minor charges, and later dropped the remaining 4 charges. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Katryna Martin

Katryna Martin, who has also been referred to as Catryna Martin, a 28 year old coach and teacher at North Gulfport 7th and 8th Grade School in Gulfport, Mississippi has been arrested, again.

Martin was originally arrested last week after being accused of having a seual relationship with a 14 year old female student. It is alleged that Martin had numerous sexual encounters with the girl while tutoring the girl in Martin’s home. Martin was suspended without pay for the incident, and subsequently released on $1,000,000 bond after somebody posted the necessary 10% amount of $100,000 for her.

Shannon Herring

32 year old Shannon Herring, a teacher at Southern Wayne High School in Dudley, North Carolina has been accused of having a sexual relationship with her 17 year old male student.

Herring has been charged with 2 counts of sexual activity with a student. The alleged sexual activity between Herring and the male student is said to have happened between October and November 2008.

Herring was released on $5,000 secured bond.
