A Chronicle of teachers behaving badly, teacher sex scandals, and other indiscretions

So you’re a foreign exchange student, you come to America in hopes you learn great things and go on to cure cancer. You somehow end up in Kansas of all places, and you take a debate class, with a goonie looking 68 year old man as your teacher.

What’s the worst that can happen? Well, he can seduce you with his bug collection in his parents basement, that’s what.

Todays story comes from Buhler High School in Reno County, Kansas. Bueler. Bueler? Ahh the good old days. Anyway, this 68 year old man is only facing 31 to 68 months in prison, for having sex with a child 50 years his junior. I guess in Kansas, having an ounce of pot in your pocket is worse than basically raping a child. His bond was set at $75,000, which is also just absurd, as from what I’ve heard, you can get a higher bond amount in Oakland County, MI, just for threatening a city detective. That’s purely hearsay though, not like I ever experienced that personally or anything.

Richard Young has had his charges upgraded from indecent liberties to aggravated indecent liberties. Young is due in court June 4th.

35 year old history teacher at West Boylston Middle-High School in West Boylston Massachusetts, Scott Simoncini has plead guilty to 4 counts of disseminating obscene material to a minor and two counts of attempting to commit a crime (enticement of a child under 16).

Simoncini is accused of sending nude pictures of himself while chatting on the internet with who he believed to be a 14 year old girl in December 2006 and in January 2008.

Simoncini received a one year suspended jail sentence and 2 years of probation. he must register as a sex offender, not have any contact with children under 16, and not participate in internet chat rooms. He will also be required to wear a GPS ankle bracelet.
